悉尼市中心方圆15公里内 别墅数量剧减

自置居所的大澳洲梦至少已经在悉尼化为了泡影,一份惊人的数据显示,在悉尼商业中心区方圆15公里以内,房产的数量正在急剧减少。悉尼地区现在有15个市的公寓房数量超过独立别墅。
图片上的房产是Darling Point 区Mona街硕果仅存的独立住宅,其余的独立住宅早已经让位于密密匝匝的公寓楼。但是就连这独苗苗也濒临被夷平的危险。
这幢独立住宅是联邦政府成立后建造的,名为Otto。但是,11月25日拍卖会或将使它湮没于历史的尘埃之中,据悉开发商已经看中了它,打算将它购下并推倒,以兴建精品套房住宅。

THE Great Australian Dream is dying in Sydney with startling statistics showing the number of houses within a 15km radius of the CBD rapidly decreasing.

The property, at 52 Mona Rd, is the last reminder of a time when homes in the street had sheds, rose gardens and Hills Hoists in the backyard.
But it, too, is in danger.
The post-Federation home named "Otto" is expected to be snapped up by developers, demolished and a boutique block of units built in its place after it is auctioned on November 25.
The house is one of just 60 remaining in the entire suburb of Darling Pt. Units now outnumber houses in more than 15 Sydney council areas, from Lane Cove to Randwick and Ryde.
In the City of Sydney council area, houses are rare - just 3836 remain amid 58,038 apartments.
The sons of Otto's deceased owner Jan Wilkinson are upset the family home of 85 years could suffer the same fate as those that once stood around it.
Bruce and Peter McWilliam said their great-grandfather Dr Otto Martin Bohrsmann bought the house for £5000 in 1925, ($169,916 in relative value today). With views of the Bridge and Opera House, it sits on 576 sq/m of land and is expected to sell for more than $6 million.
Apartments now outstrip or nearly match the number of houses in Ashfield, Botany, Burwood, Lane Cove, Leichhardt, Manly, Marrickville, Mosman, North Sydney, Randwick, Strathfield, Sydney, Waverley, Willoughby and Woollahra.
